Packers KR Ty Montgomery Traded To Ravens After Epic Blunder; Rodgers Says "Should Have Played Anthem During That Kickoff"
/Have you ever sucked so much at one time that your employer wanted to cut, trade, or fire you? If the answer is “Yeah, like once…” then you must be Ty Montgomery.
Down by 2 points in the fourth quarter against the Rams on Sunday, Montgomery was instructed to kneel instead of running during a kick return. Spoiler… Ty totally didn’t do that. He ran out of the end zone and promptly fumbled the ball, which the Rams recovered and ended the game. Green Bay lost 29-27, and because of Montgomery, the best clutch time quarterback of the modern generation didn’t have a chance to score with two minutes left in the contest.
At the Packers facility on Wednesday, Rodgers was asked if he endorsed Montgomery’s trade to the Ravens for a 7th round draft pick in 2020, the 2-time MVP said “All he needed to do was kneel. Come on man. We should have played the national anthem during the kickoff. At least I still would have been able to win the game and he would kneel. The only brutality Ty needs to look out for is these hands. So yeah… I endorse it, and now my shoulders feel lighter than usual”
When asked if there’s anything else the Packers could do to help the roster, Rodgers stated, “Everything. Have you seen our offensive line? Or our running game? Cause I haven’t. I have to save all my damn mana for the 4th quarter so I can cast spells and buffs and sh. Oh but I’m the smug one? Get me some damn players.”
Green Bay plays New England on Sunday.
