NBA Buzz: Pels Plan To Stay Course After AD Trade And Fail With Zion Too; Lavar Ball Chimes In

The New Orleans Pelicans’ are fresh off a blockbuster trade that sent perennial all star Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. The Pelicans now have the 1st pick (definitely Zion Williamson) and 4th pick in this year’s NBA Draft. The recent transactions had New Orleans fans optimistic for a new direction that involves winning. However, Pels Owner Gayle Benson had other ideas that she revealed during a press conference Monday afternoon.

“As I’ve said before we are absolutely not selling the team.” Benson told reporters. “I think we’ve established a strong tradition of pessimism and mediocrity here and we don’t plan on changing that any time soon. Look at what we did with Anthony Davis. Look at that ridiculous contract we gave Solomon Hill. So I expect to stay the course and do the same with Zion and those injury prone Lakers’ players we got. Plus I get my first black friend in Lavar Ball!”

Right after the press conference, Lavar Ball tweeted:
