Amid the controversial murder of Saudi national and U.S. Resident Jamal Khashoggi, WWE has announced that their live event, Crown Jewel, will go on as planned in Saudi Arabia. The controversy stems from a Saudi journalist, who fled the country after being critical of their government, was murdered by Saudi affiliates in their consulate in Turkey.

After receiving criticism for Crown Jewel, WWE announced they are also planning to commit to their live event, WWE Genocide and Oppression, in Latveria. The nation’s dictator, Dr. Doom, has been under scrutiny for decades since his regime oppresses all other ethnic groups besides Doom’s own ethnicity, Roma. WWE insists they do not support racism and oppression, but they will turn a blind eye if the price is right.

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon told reporters at Monday’s press conference, “The WWE is about breaking down barriers and inspiring change. Dr. Doom has shown significant spiritual growth since killing his own Prime Minister in 2006 [see Fantasic Four #536].” McMahon spoke with a devious smirk during the entire press conference. When a reporter asked if money factored into his decision to pursue the event, an increasingly annoyed Mr. McMahon stated, “Look, I don’t give a f*** anymore. Of course money factored in. This is a s*** world, with s*** people. You think I give a f***. I beat God himself in a tag team match like ten years ago. I’m the omnipotent champion now, god dammit. F*** bitches, get money. The only moral compass here is ‘deeeeeez’ nuts. YOLO!”

WWE Genocide and Oppression is scheduled for late December.
